Dr Mujtaba Ahmed

Dr Mujtaba Ahmed is a formally qualified Consultant Physician and Geriatrician. He trained in United Kingdom and was awarded Membership of Royal Colleges of Physicians, UK (MRCP). He came to Australia in 2008 and completed his specialist physician training towards dual fellowship in Internal (General) Medicine and Geriatric Medicine at The Princess Alexandra Hospital, The Prince Charles Hospital and QEII Hospital.

Dr Ahmed became a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in 2014 specialising in Geriatric Medicine and Internal Medicine. He started as Consultant Physician at Logan hospital and has private consultation rooms as part of Southside Specialist Medical & Geriatric Centre. He also has visiting rights at Sunnybank Private Hospital.

Dr Ahmed is involved with teaching medical students and he is also a supervisor for basic and advanced physician trainees.

Dr Mujtaba Ahmed believes in holistic patient centred care and early comprehensive geriatric assessment. He has special interests in diagnosis and management of dementia, fall prevention and Osteoporosis management, Parkinson's disease, Stroke and incontinence.

Dr Kah Wai Chan

Dr Kah Wai Chan grew up in Singapore and graduated from Trinity College, Ireland in 2000. He relocated to Brisbane and underwent his specialist training in SE Queensland. He became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians specialising in Geriatric Medicine in 2014.

Dr Chan has private consultation rooms as part of Southside Specialist Medical & Geriatric Centre and runs his private outpatient clinics at multiple locations. He is also a visiting medical officer at the Mater Private Hospital (South Brisbane) and a Staff Specialist at Logan Hospital.

Dr Chan's special interest includes cognitive assessments, management of different types of Dementia, Parkinson's Disease, frailty, falls, osteoporosis/ fractures and Comprehensive Geriatrics Assessments.

Dr Chan speaks fluent Cantonese and Mandarin.

Dr Sami Ahmad

Dr Sami Ahmad is a Specialist Pain Medicine Physician. He began his career in the United Kingdom and gained unparalleled experience at prestigious institutions, including Guy’s and St Thomas’s Hospital, London. He came to Australia in 2008,established himself as a General Practitioner. Dr Sami Ahmad completed his Fellowships in Pain Medicine at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, Brisbane and holds Fellowships of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists - faculty of Pain Medicine (FFPMANZCA) and Royal Australian Collegeof General Practitioners (FRACGP).

Dr Sami Ahmad was awards with Ulf Lindblom Prize for the highest mark in the European Diploma in Pain Medicine (EDPM) held by the European Pain Federation (EFIC) in 2019.

Dr Ahmad has experience with both interventional and non-interventional pain management including lower back and neck pain and joint pains. He has special interest in musculoskeletal pain management and biological therapy for the management of chronic debilitating conditions, like osteoarthritis. He has incorporated Point of Care Ultrasound (POCUS) in his practice to achieve accurate diagnosis and precision targeted guidance of the Orthbiologics injections.

He has ‘Senior Lecturer’ academic title at the university of Queensland and involved in teaching.

Dr Sami Ahmad has private consultation rooms as part of Southside Specialist Medical & Geriatric Centre and consult at Springfield Specialist Suites. Dr Sami Ahmad has visiting rights at Sunnybank Private Hospital, Brisbane Private Hospital, and St Andrews War Memorial Hospital Brisbane.

He is fluent in English, Urdu and Hindi.

Prof M.A. Memon

Professor Memon is a surgeon of over 25 years experience. Having trained in some of the best medical centres in the world, (USA, UK, Ireland) he offers his patients a safe and caring surgical hand. Professor Memon offers upper and lower gastrointestinal surgery, obesity surgery and endoscopy. Encompassing both open and minimally-invasive techniques Prof Memon performs hernia repair, gallbladder surgery, anti-reflux surgery, colorectal surgery, circumcision, vasectomy, varicose vein surgery, obesity surgery (gastric banding and intragastric balloon) among other general surgical procedures. Prof Memon is a highly experienced endoscopist and dually accredited with the Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Society of Australia (GESA). As such he also offers colonoscopy, gastroscopy, capsule endoscopy and pH & Manometry Studies for reflux disease. Prof Memon also offers select paediatric surgical procedures.
